Course Overview (2 options)

This course is for registered dental professionals only. For dental professionals who want to offer whitening safely, confidently and profitably, whether that's adding a service to an existing practice or building an independent income stream.

The White Knight is an 8-hour CPD-recognised program delivered face-to-face at our independent dental hygiene studio in Somers on the Mornington Peninsula.

Sessions are limited to four participants, so you get personalised guidance and plenty of hands-on time throughout the day.

A virtual / Interactive option with a professional kit included is also available if you'd prefer to train from your own location.

What the Course Covers

Eight modules take you from regulatory foundations through to clinical application and business setup:

• Regulations, Safety and Ethics: Australian teeth whitening regulations, AHPRA advertising standards, informed consent, and what legal compliance looks like in practice.
• The Science of Whitening: How hydrogen peroxide and carbamide peroxide work, the oxidation process, tooth penetration, and what actually drives results.
• Clinical Protocols: Step-by-step in-chair and take-home whitening protocols, shade guide selection, and how to communicate realistic outcomes to patients.
• Sensitivity and Patient Management: Identifying high-risk patients, contraindications, and practical techniques for preventing and managing potential sensitivity.
• Advanced Techniques: White spot lesions, combining remineralisation with whitening, and an introduction to more complex cases.
• Beyond the Basics: What to do when treatments don't go to plan, including managing uneven results and more challenging presentations.
• Aftercare and Long-term Maintenance: Best practices for aftercare, shade stabilisation, and the products that support lasting results.
• Marketing and Business Growth: Starting your own business, defining your point of difference, building an online presence, and pricing and packaging your whitening services.

What to expect on the day

The option to receive a professional whitening treatment yourself (premium or express ), so you understand the patient experience from the inside. The small group format means there's plenty of time to ask questions, work through your own individual circumstances and plans, and practise the procedures on your colleagues as they practise on you. (with your consent)

The day is relaxed, hands-on, and genuinely enjoyable. Delicious food is provided, dietary requirements catered for, and you'll leave having connected with a small group of like-minded colleagues who are working through the same questions you are.

Paulette will also share how she set up her own independent practice from home, so whether you're looking to improve the whitening services in your current clinic, start something of your own, or simply get clarity on where to begin, you'll have the space and support to work through what that looks like for you specifically.

About Your Trainer

Paulette Smith is an AHPRA-registered dental hygienist with over 40 years of clinical experience, including a role as Program Coordinator of the Advanced Diploma of Oral Health (Dental Hygiene) at RMIT University. She has been offering professional teeth whitening from her independent practice in Somers since 2019. The White Knight is built on what she has learned in the clinic, not just the classroom, and has evolved to help Oral Health Practitioners create their own Independent Teeth Whitening business.
